About Us

About_headerFollowing his call to the Bar in 1993, Robert McGill opened a General Litigation law practice in London, Ontario, representing individuals with a variety of legal issues including Worker’s Compensation claims. Recognizing the dearth of skilled legal service available to injured workers embroiled in disputes with the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, advocating on behalf of injured workers gradually became the dominant focus of Rob’s practice. Representing Injured Workers in their ongoing claims before the W.S.I.B., along with associated matters such as Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Disability claims, is now Rob’s sole area of practice.

Rob has argued hundreds of cases at all levels of the Worker’s Compensation appeals regime, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, and is counsel of record in dozens of successful reported W.S.I.A.T. decisions. Rob receives many referrals from lawyers throughout the Province, is a regular presenter at Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) Continuing Legal Education seminars educating other lawyers on Worker’s Compensation matters, the Editor of OTLA’s “Basic Guide to Injured Worker’s Legal Rights”, and a recognized leader in the field of Worker’s Compensation advocacy.

McGill Law Firm Professional Corporation comprises one lawyer, Rob McGill, and two law clerks, Candace, and Kala. Rob is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Workplace Safety and Insurance Law; one of just eleven lawyers in Ontario to hold this designation. McGill Law Firm represents injured workers regarding all issues arising from workplace accidents governed by Ontario law. Some accidents, though occurring outside Ontario, are still subject to Ontario Worker’s Comp law.
